The purpose of this article is to layout the process of managing local accounts in the POS software. How to create/edit/disable a cashier or store manager account in RMS so that employees can sign into the POS and Store Operations Manager programs.
How to Add a New Cashier
1. Open the Store Manager program.
2. Click on the Database tab.
3. Highlight and click on the Cashiers option to display the list of Cashier accounts at your site.
4. At the top of the list should be 3 template accounts: Cashier, Manager, and Admin. The only templates that should be copied are Cashier or Store Manager.
5. Highlight the Cashier template option, and select the Copy option on the right-hand side. This will create a new cashier account and leave the template unchanged.

6. The Cashier Properties will open. In the Number field, enter the Employee's First Name and Last Initial (all lowercase, one word, no spaces). Example of this would be 'Jalen A. Hurts' is entered as 'jalenh'.
7. In the Name field, enter the Employee's Full Name.
8. In the Telephone and E-mail address fields, fill in the Employee's contact information.
9. In the Password field, enter the PIN the employee will use to sign in.
NOTE: Make sure the password is short and easy to remember so they can easily type in the username and password for the first sale. For Security Purposes, do not use any ATM or other personal PIN numbers.
Do not write the password down because as a manager you can force a change on the password to get into their account, if you need to.
10. Enter the Over/Short Limit Amount for the employee (min $5.00)
NOTE: All employees, including managers, should have a limit set so that a large difference cannot be 'Z'd'. This will prevent the employee from closing out at the end of the day if they exceed this amount. This will force the employee to do a blind close.
11. Select OK at the bottom of the screen to create the account. You should receive a message stating to restart POS program for the changes to take effect, select OK to close the pop-up window.
12. Close the Cashier window, and try to sign in.

How to Edit a Cashier
1. Open the Store Operation program.
2. Click on the Database tab.
3. Highlight and click on the Cashiers option to display list of accounts at your site.
4. Highlight the Cashier account that needs editing.
5. Click on the Properties option on the right hand side top access the Cashier Properties.
6. Edit the fields that need updating.
7. Click the OK button at the bottom of the window to save any changes that were made.
8. Click OK to close the pop-up window, then Close out the Cashiers window.
How to Inactivate a Cashier
1. Open the Store Operation program.
2. Click on the Database tab.
3. Highlight and click on the Cashiers option to display list of accounts at your site.
4. Highlight the Cashier account that needs editing.
5. Click on the Properties option on the right hand side top access the Cashier Properties.
6. Change the Password field to anything with 8 characters.
7. Click the OK button at the bottom of the window to save the password change.
8. Click OK to close the pop-up window, then Close out the Cashiers window.
