How to use HID-ScaleWedge

HID- Scale Wedge Software is installed on both ship stations at the Main Warehouse. It is used to take the weight from the fairbanks Scale and enter it in to any text box in a browser or application.

By Default I have set it to run on startup and minimize the window so it will run in the background. If it is needed you can open the app from the desktop icon or all programs list. To access the program while its already running expand the taskbar in the bottom right hand corner of your screen and click on the scale wedge icon

Once the app is open make sure that the Fairbanks scale is selected in the select scale section. (It will default to this scale. If for some reason it's changed or disconnected just select it in the select scale window)To test you can place an item on the scale and you should see a weight appear in the weight box. By default it will enter the number and the units. 

From there open Netsuite or any application you wish to enter the weight. Once you are ready, place your item on the scale. Once the weight is calculated you can click in to the weight textbox and place your cursor. Then press F9 on your keyboard. That will send the weight to Netsuite or your chosen application. 

Settings

The default keystroke is F9. If F9 can't be used it can be changed to any key. Simply click into the hotkey text box in settings and press the key you wish to use. It will register the key pressed. click OK to save. 

I have unchecked include units with weight value as Netsuite is only looking for the number. If you need to include the units check the box and click OK. The units default to the scales units.

I have checked the box to run software on startup and to minimize the window. It will run in the background so no need to launch it. If this needs to be turned off just uncheck the boxes and click OK in settings.
