There are three different printers that you can print from on your register and back office computers. The Star receipt printer, the DYMO label printer, and of course the regular Epson/Dell/HP printer. All of these devices will use the same Print preview feature, but with different settings. The point of this article is to demonstrate how to select the printer you are printing too, and to make sure it has the correct settings.
Receipt Printer: Star MCP20/21

To print to the receipt printer confirm the below settings:
- Select the Star MCP21/20 in the Destination field.
- Change the Layout field to the Portrait option.
- Select More settings.
- Paper size should be 50.8mm x 200mm.
- Margins should be set to None.
- Scale should be set to Default.
- Choose Print.
- The receipt should print and the cash drawer should open.
Label Printer: DYMO LabelWrite 550 Turbo

To print to the label printer please confirm the following settings:
- Navigate to Catalog > Products
- Locate a suitable product and click on the product name.
- Click Print labels...
- Input the number of barcodes you wish to test print. We recommend printing out a run of 5 or more barcodes to ensure that the alignment is correct.
- Click Next after entering the desired quantity of labels.
- Confirm Label type is set to Continuous feed. In the Select label content make sure Barcode, Name, and Default retail price are all enabled. (Primary SKU code is not needed as the SKU is included in the Name). Click Print.
- In the Chrome Print Preview screen, make sure the DYMO LabelWriter 550 is the selected printer in the Destination Field, Layout should be set to Portrait.
- Click More settings and select the Paper Size drop-down, choose the 30373 Price Tag Label option. Change the Margins field to None.
- Select Print.
Printing to Desktop Printer
If you need to print signage, reports, or regular documents to the desktop printer. Please make sure to check the following settings:
- In the Destination field, select your desired printer (Epson, HP, Dell)
- Layout: Default should be set to Portrait, select Landscape if you wish to print horizontally
- Click More settings
- Paper size: Letter
- Margins: Default
- Scale: Default
There are other settings you can change her if needed, like number of copies, print in color or black and white, print on both sides of the paper, etc that you can adjust if need be.
