If your credit card terminal stops working try to following:
- Double-check that it has proper power. You should try moving the power cable to a different outlet
- If it has proper power, but still won't work, try rebooting it:
- Hold down the clear and minus keys until it beeps. It will then go through a reboot cycle and you should see the Eastern National or America's National Parks logos.
- If the reboot does not work, or if there is a message that says "ALERT IRRUPTION," there may be a larger problem, so submit a ticket.
Note: The "Alert Irruption" error means the terminal can no longer be used to accept transactions. Inside your card machine there is an anti-tamper proof device. If the card terminal feels it is being tampered with or if the terminal suffers a hard impact, the anti-tamper proof device will trigger and shut the terminal down. Your terminal will need to be replaced.
